The NHRA South Central Division is pleased to announce that Thorp Racing, led by longtime supporter Jim Thorp, has expanded its partnership with the division by adding Super Comp to its portfolio of class bonus fund sponsorships for the 2026 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season.
Already a valued supporter of racers across the division, Jim Thorp has continued to demonstrate his commitment to sportsman drag racing through programs designed to reward competitors who support NHRA South Central Division events throughout the season.
With the addition of the Super Comp Bonus Fund, Thorp Racing will now support competitors in one of the most competitive and technically demanding classes in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
Super Comp has long been recognized as a cornerstone category within NHRA sportsman racing, featuring a highly competitive field of racers competing at the 8.90 index level. The class consistently draws strong participation across the South Central Division and showcases some of the most talented drivers in the sport.
“Jim Thorp has been a tremendous supporter of our racers and our division,” said Jonathan Johnson, NHRA South Central Division Director. “Programs like the Super Comp Bonus Fund provide additional incentive for racers who compete throughout the season and support our Division 4 events. We are grateful for Jim’s continued commitment to the racers and to the future of sportsman drag racing.”
Through initiatives like this, the NHRA South Central Division continues to work alongside industry partners to create meaningful opportunities for competitors while strengthening grassroots drag racing across the region.
