Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Event Schedule 

  


Event Schedule 

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Texas Motorplex for our Top Alcohol Regional event during the Stampede of Speed, October 8–11. Please see the attached schedule and the key information below to help with your planning.

Thursday, October 8 – Parking

  • 8:00 a.m. – TA46 racer parking opens at Gate 20.

  • A stacking line will be in place for Allstars, National Event, and LO-only competitors.  (These are NOT for the TA Racers, you will be parked in your pit spaces)

Friday, October 9 – Testing

  • 4:30 p.m. – Top Alcohol Funny Car test session

  • 5:00 p.m. – Top Alcohol Dragster test session

Friday’s Top Alcohol runs are optional testing sessions. This is a free shot at the track, courtesy of NHRA D4 and the Texas Motorplex.  All three Regional qualifying sessions will take place Saturday, with eliminations on Sunday.

Saturday, October 10 – Qualifying

  • Q1: Top Alcohol Dragster at 9:00 a.m.; Funny Car at 9:30 a.m.

  • Q2: Top Alcohol Dragster at 1:00 p.m.; Funny Car at 1:30 p.m.

  • Q3: Top Alcohol Dragster at 3:30 p.m.; Funny Car at 4:00 p.m.

  • 7:35 p.m. – Additional Top Alcohol racing is planned during the festival intermission. Participation details will be confirmed separately.

Sunday, October 11 – Eliminations

  • Noon – First round, Top Alcohol Dragster followed by Funny Car

  • 3:15 p.m. – Second round, Top Alcohol Dragster followed by Funny Car

  • 6:35 p.m. – Finals, Top Alcohol Dragster followed by Funny Car, during the festival intermission

Stars of Texas Music Festival

There will be plenty happening throughout the weekend, with racing and live music sharing the spotlight. Festival gates open Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at noon.

  • Friday: Wynn Williams at 6:00 p.m., Jason Boland and the Stragglers at 7:30 p.m., and Aaron Watson at 9:00 p.m.

  • Saturday: Kruse Brothers at 5:00 p.m., Avery Anna at 8:00 p.m., and Brad Paisley at 9:30 p.m.

  • Sunday: Ray Wylie Hubbard at 4:00 p.m., Rick Trevino at 5:30 p.m., The Frontmen at 7:00 p.m., and Travis Tritt at 8:30 p.m.

Please keep the breaks between Sunday’s elimination rounds in mind when planning your day. All schedules are subject to change, so please stay attentive to event announcements.

Tech Card Policy Reminder 

Reminder to all participants, any driver making a run prior to submitting an electronic tech card and not signing the online or onsite waiver will be disqualified from the event. Disqualification applies to the driver and vehicle in which the illegal run was involved. Should a driver have a second entry in a different category at the same event, the second entry will be allowed to continue providing tech inspection and waiver signing was completed prior to making a run in the vehicle. 

  

Tech Card Policy Reminder 

If any corrections are required after submitting a tech card. Competitor will notify the race director or NHRA staff of any necessary corrections as soon as possible. NHRA will provide the competitor with a link to edit the tech card.
