About Houston Motorsports Park

 

Houston Motorsports Park, one of the fastest 1/8 mile all concrete drag strips in the country, with speeds over 190 mph, big burnouts and huge wheel stands at almost every event. Witness supercharged, nitrous breathing, and/or turbo powered machines with well over 2500 horsepower at about any special event! The current track record, 3.717 @ 199MPH is held by Frankie “MADMAN” Taylor in his 2005 Corvette Outlaw Pro Mod.

 

The entire track, return road, and safety walls are concrete. It features 2 turn off roads, plus state of the art timing and scoring equipment. The spectator area is 20 feet above the track surface, enabling you to view from the burnout box to finish line and entire shutdown area.

 

This facility has been built adjacent to HMP’s NASCAR Oval Track, which has achieved motorsports industry acclaim as America’s premier 3/8 mile high banked asphalt oval short track. The oval track can also be utilized as an area for drifting, car shows, street rodders, vendor booths, swap meets, concerts, and monster trucks, etc.

 

This complex is situated in a park like setting inside Beltway 8 on the North East side of Houston, only 20 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from Bush Intercontinental Airport. HMP is sure to bring memorable excitement and big smiles to children and adults alike.

 

The owners share the concerns of the City of Houston, H.P.D., Harris County Law Enforcement Agencies, and many other concerned citizens about the negative impact of illegal street racing in Houston.

 

Our goal is to create an attractive, safe and controlled venue, where we can encourage street racers to “Do it on the strip, not on the streets.”
